Overview
Residential Coordinator for Residential Education (Head Resident II - Non-Exempt) – Residential Life Location: San Francisco, CA Salary: $46,368 - $50,556 Employer: University of California, Berkeley Responsibilities
Student Supervision : Reinforce and adhere to university policies; live on-campus full-time to monitor and secure the residence hall and report maintenance issues in a timely fashion; act as a role model, maintaining physical and social boundaries with scholars while cultivating an environment of belonging; supervise 150 scholars for various activities including structured and unstructured time; participate in a rotating on-call shift (including nighttime) by responding to emergency calls and conducting rounds; manage and facilitate daily wake-up calls, lights out, suite meetings, meal reminders and snack preparation; lead community meetings and ensure students are in their dorms at lights out; support program activities such as movie nights, study halls, game nights and ice breakers. Administrative Duties : Complete administrative duties related to surveys, incident reports, scheduling and event planning; track daily attendance; report, document, and follow up on scholar misconduct per NAF and university policies; transport supplies to CEP office to various campus locations; organize workshop materials and provide technology support. Travel : Ability to travel to the Central Valley, Southern California, and/or Contra Costa County to transport students to and from the program. Professional Development : Serve on student and career panels; attend three days of NAF Future Ready Scholars residential and summer support training. Other : Complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Work leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively in a lead capacity; strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in an intensive, fast-paced summer schedule. Service orientation, program management experience, sound judgment and decision-making, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities in varied environments. Effective verbal and written communication; cross-cultural awareness; understanding of issues faced by low-income, first-generation (LIFG) students. Ability to travel within California. Education/Training
High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience/training. One year of coursework at a university, college, or community college and/or equivalent experience/training. Certification to instruct in applicable recreational sports programs and/or equivalent experience/training. Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with high school students in an educational context; proficiency with basic computer applications; ability to incorporate technology in the classroom. Knowledge of campus policies and procedures; prior youth camp, fitness, or outdoor program experience; age-appropriate activity experience. Red Cross CPR and Standard First Aid Training Certification (if applicable). Salary & Benefits

California law requires UC Berkeley to provide a reasonable compensation range; final offers are based on candidate qualifications and experience. The budgeted salary range for this position is $4,000 over the course of the appointment.
