Assistant Manager position at Sally Beauty. Essential function and responsibilities align with supporting the Store Manager in hiring, developing and leading store associates, ensuring optimal customer experiences, overseeing store operations, and maintaining brand standards. The role supports the Store Manager in all primary duties and assumes these duties when the Store Manager is not present. Primary Duties
30% Brand: Supervise and support associates’ daily goals and activities to deliver an exceptional client experience, maximize sales/KPIs, and drive customer loyalty in assigned stores. Maintain brand standards such as merchandising, Planograms (POGs), marketing, back rooms, dress code, etc. Act as the main point of contact to resolve customer issues and concerns. Analyze store trends and anticipate customer demands. 30% People: Hire, train, and develop teams to achieve positive results. Leverage internal hiring platforms and actively recruit to build a strong network of external candidates when needed. Identify strengths and opportunities for each associate and address them through coaching or counseling. Enforce company policies and expectations. Maintain positive associate relations by resolving concerns and communicating relevant information. Build strong working relationships with Store Manager peers. Maintain consistent and timely communication with AM/DM. Foster an environment of diversity, inclusion and belonging. 30% Operations: Ensure execution of all company processes through training, management, analysis, and continuous improvement. Utilize processes to support digital strategies, including Omni-channel fulfillment (SFS/SDD/BOPIS). Manage inventory through ordering and shipment processing. Manage payroll hours to meet business needs and schedule appropriately. Ensure all store opening and closing procedures are performed correctly. Deliver timely and accurate follow-through on company directives, assignments and projects. 10% Safety/Loss Prevention: Ensure a safe store environment for associates and customers; enforce all policies and procedures. Protect company assets by controlling inventory and cash in accordance with shrink, damages, banking, and related procedures. Analyze and utilize reports, tools, and technology. Ensure stores comply with HAZMAT training and execution where applicable. Knowledge, Skills/Abilities And Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent Must be 18 years of age or older Minimum 3+ years retail sales/customer service experience preferred At least 1+ year prior management experience preferred Ability to lead or support a team to meet business objectives Effective communication with team and management Scheduling availability to meet the needs of the business Cosmetology license desirable, but not required Competencies
