The team is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its sports division, supporting the Controller in managing key accounting functions including cash management, month-end close, and general ledger maintenance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a high-growth organization at the forefront of entertainment and sports.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee revenue-related activities, including posting journal entries, managing accounts receivable, and performing reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle — processing invoices, coding transactions accurately, allocating costs appropriately, and maintaining adherence to internal policies and best practices.
  • Process outgoing payments via ACH, wire transfers, and checks, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Support the month-end close process by preparing reconciliations, posting journal entries, and assisting with account reviews.
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, recording financial transactions and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze expenditures, allocate costs by cost center, and support internal reporting needs.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for vendors, handling inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, with a focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general ledger accounting.
  • Strong understanding of core accounting principles and practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
