Coda Search is partnering with a prominent media and production company headquartered in Los Angeles. Over the past 15 years, this dynamic organization has grown rapidly through strategic acquisitions, evolving into one of the largest entertainment and media companies in North America. We are seeking an Experience Staff Accountant to join the Creative Media Accounting team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this individual will play a key role in the monthly close process, balance sheet reconciliations, financial forecasting, and monthly analysis. This position has opened due to growth — the previous team member was recently promoted to lead another division — offering significant opportunity for advancement and long-term career development. Key Responsibilities Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of preliminary financial statements. Maintain and oversee the general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and financial schedules. Review and analyze revenue recognition entries in accordance with ASC 606 and ensure proper accounting treatment. Forecast, monitor, and track cash flow, while identifying and explaining key variances. Review customer invoicing processes and contractual agreements to ensure accurate revenue recognition and reporting. Perform detailed variance and fluctuation analyses to support business decision-making. Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including resolving aged accounts and approving vendor invoices. Assist with the preparation and coordination of the annual audit. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and ensure adherence to best practices. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. Minimum of 3+ years of progressive accounting experience. Prior experience in media, entertainment, or production industries is highly preferred. Strong proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
