Estimated Weekly Salary

Weekly Salary Range: $2130 - $2190 per week (estimated)

Job Details

• Location: West Peoria, IL 61604 (Illinois psychiatric nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Adolescent Psychiatric Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (10/27/2025 – 1/24/2026)
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour days (7:00am – 7:00pm)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Employment Type: Locum tenens travel contract

Qualifications

• 5+ years of nursing experience (psychiatric/mental health nursing preferred)
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
• Active Illinois RN license in good standing
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Crisis Prevention Certification (CPI)
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS, word processing, email, web browser)

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to adolescent patients in a clinical healthcare setting
• Conduct patient assessments through interviews, observation, and physical exams
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Utilize evidence-based interventions to support optimal mental health outcomes
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records
• Promote patient and staff safety using proper lift equipment and safe handling techniques
• Perform bedside lab testing and adhere to hospital procedures
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and delegate nursing tasks as needed
• Advocate for patients and communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare professionals
• Support ongoing professional development for self and peers
