Data Quality Unit Supervisor - Laboratory Scientist Supervisor in the Public Health Laboratory, Data Quality Unit, Minnesota Department of Health. The Data Quality Unit ensures the quality of the data generated by the Environmental Section. Responsibilities
Supervise and ensure the work of the Data Quality Unit is completed with quality and timeliness. Review the data generated by the Environmental Laboratory Section to ensure it meets all quality assurance requirements. Conduct internal audits and other quality assurance activities in coordination with the section quality assurance officer, section manager, and unit supervisors. Hire, train, direct, and evaluate unit staff. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in the physical, natural, or biological sciences. Two (2) years of experience conducting laboratory analyses in an analytical or research program in environmental chemistry. Demonstrated leadership in one of the following: experience as a supervisor, team lead, lead worker, or project lead; completion of a state leadership development program (e.g., Emerging Leaders Institute or Senior Leadership Institute); completion of a similar leadership development program; or experience leading a program or chairing a committee with 1+ year identifying issues, goals, and strategic actions and a 100+ hour/year time commitment. Minimum qualifications to be assessed during the interview process
Knowledge of procedures involved in planning, executing, evaluating and reporting analytical chemistry data. Ability to organize, execute and evaluate research activities independently and correlate findings from a variety of scientific disciplines. Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships. Ability to supervise the work of others. Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in chemistry, physical, natural, or biological sciences. Four or more years of experience conducting laboratory analyses in an analytical or research program in environmental sciences. Two or more years of experience supervising or coordinating a team. Experience with quality assurance programs such as EPA and/or ISO 17025. Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems. Additional Requirements
Must successfully pass a background and reference check. Under U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations, the successful candidate must be able to accept work in the U.S. by the day employment begins. This agency is unable to offer H-1B sponsorship. How To Apply
