Job Description To be an athletics coach in MCPS, applicants must be interviewed and hired by the principal or designee at the school where the vacancy exists. Coaches are hired for one season and must be qualified.
Schools should hire qualified MCPS teachers or certified educators if available. Emergency coaches may be hired if no qualified MCPS personnel are available.
Qualifications
Be an MCPS teacher or certified educator employed by MCPS
Complete or be enrolled in the MCPS course "Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals and CPR/AED"
Complete and submit the online MCPS Application
Emergency Coach Levels
Level I:
Certified teacher (not necessarily MCPS employed), completed the MCPS course, and submitted application.
Level II:
High school graduate, at least 21 years old, completed the MCPS course, and submitted application.
Position Details This is a temporary part-time position for varsity boys' tennis at B-CC HS, without benefits. Wage depends on several factors; contact the hiring manager for details.
