Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional
English as a Second Language (ESL) and Special Education/Moderate Disabilities teacher

Principal/Head of School Responsibilities English as a Second Language Provide ESL instruction to Multilingual Learners identified as English Learners. Collaborate with content teachers to support English language development and classroom instruction. Coordinate with instructional leaders to ensure language support and academic assistance. Assist with ACCESS assessments and ELL transition meetings. Deliver lessons aligned with WIDA Standards and incorporate culturally relevant practices. Use technology effectively in instruction and planning. Administer state and local assessments for ELL students. Participate in professional development to stay current in ELL instruction. Moderate Disabilities Implement district learning goals and develop student portfolios. Provide small-group instruction for students with moderate to severe delays. Develop and monitor IEP goals and progress reports. Adapt instruction and assessments to meet student needs. Collaborate with staff to support student modifications and transitions. Reflect, seek feedback, and contribute to a collaborative culture. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree and valid Massachusetts Teaching Licenses in ESL and Moderate Disabilities. Meet state and federal licensing requirements and be highly qualified. Authorization to work in the U.S. by start date. Ability to model excellent English language skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in urban settings. Fluency in one of BPS’s official languages: Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean, Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Somali. Certification in content area and in Moderate Disabilities and/or ESL is preferred. Terms:
