The Concierge is often the initial contact and first impression that many people have of Sunrise Senior Living. The Concierge greets potential residents, families, and visitors, manages external and internal calls, and takes and communicates messages. The Concierge provides an overview of community information to inquiries in support of the Director of Sales (DOS) and Executive Director (ED). The Concierge assists the Business Office Coordinator (BOC)/HR Designee in recruitment, data entry, and other administrative duties, and monitors the Bistro area for refreshments, cleanliness, and music to ensure a pleasant atmosphere. Responsibilities
Customer Service
Oversee the community entry area for visitors, guests, and residents; extend a warm welcome; offer beverages; ensure community safety protocols are in place. Contact the DOS, ED, or Department Coordinator to meet with prospective residents, families, or visitors and minimize wait times. Greet potential candidates and direct them to apply online or capture candidate information in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to start recruitment. Answer incoming calls with appropriate greetings and identification; take complete messages and communicate them to the recipient. Offer a community overview to callers and forward or transfer as needed. Manage appointments for residents and family members (e.g., hairdresser, transportation). Send get-well cards to residents in the hospital and sympathy cards to families as needed.
Sales and Marketing
Order flowers and name plates for new residents prior to move-in; arrange guest meals for move-in day. Create and maintain marketing and move-in packet inventory; assist the DOS with lead tracking and CRM entry if applicable. Support the DOS with initial inquiry calls and help advance Sunrise interest.
Front Desk and Bistro
Maintain a neat desk and entry area; monitor Bistro for cleanliness and stock refreshments; keep music playing. Coordinate coverage of the front desk when stepping away from duties.
Risk Management
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations; follow PPE, fire safety, SDS, and lockout-tagout procedures; maintain rosters and schedules for emergencies. Support Safe Leaving Program and ensure residents’ safety per Sunrise standards; manage guest and resident sign-in/out; maintain elopement lists and awareness of entry/exit.
Administrative
Update resident phone lists and rosters; manage meal tickets and counts; distribute mail and newspapers; post the Daily Menu; assist with recruitment data entry and general admin; monitor and order office supplies; track and disperse team member paychecks.
Training and Team Contributions
Collaborate with the team; uphold the Team Member Credo and Principles of Service; engage in engagement programs and training as required; participate in meetings and complete required trainings.
Core Competencies
Ability to handle multiple priorities; strong written and verbal communication; organizational and time-management skills; accurate record-keeping; good judgment and problem-solving.
Experience and qualifications
High School diploma or GED Proven customer service experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications; ability to learn new applications Drivers employed with Sunrise vehicle duties must sign the Driver job description and understand safety requirements when applicable Pre-employment and benefits
