Overview

The EHS Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing assessment of the site's safety, health, environmental, and property preservation system. The position ensures that the site's EHS system meets the objectives of Precision Castparts Corporate and Divisional policies, procedures, and guidelines. This individual works with the site management team to create a culture that emphasizes employee engagement so that all team members embody safety as a core value of the operation. The successful candidate in this role must have a strong background in Safety and Environmental, and continued compliance with all environmental law and code is paramount.

Responsibilities Compliance with safety and environmental policies and procedures.

Aids in coordination of EHS activities.

Develops safety awareness initiatives that reinforce and encourage employee involvement.

Compiles, analyzes, and submits site safety statistics.

Acts as liaison between the site and all EHS Divisional and Corporate support.

Acts as liaison between the site and all Federal, State, and Local enforcement agencies.

Develops action plans to improve safety compliance and overall facilities.

Performs inspections, investigations and analyses to minimize the potential for accidental losses or environmental releases.

Directs and leads initiatives of 6S goals and activities.

Establishes and maintains environmental compliance and safety as a core value of the organization.

Maintains constant employee engagement and regular auditing as a cornerstone of EHS compliance.

Increases employee involvement in the site's EHS process.

Maintains compliance with Federal, state, and local EHS regulations.

Maintains site management involvement in safety and environmental program planning, training, organization, and implementation.

Submits required reports (AWS, TRI, Tier II, etc.) through governmental channels for monitoring compliance.

Conducts routine inspections to demonstrate that systems are in place to protect the environment.

Participates in and supports the Plant's Manufacturing Operating System; attends and contributes to daily and weekly meetings on a regular basis; leads, contributes to, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

Effectively utilizes enterprise planning tools to manage the department and EHS activities.

Initiates and controls cost-effective methods of operation for the EHS department.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Project Management, EHS, or related field.

Minimum five (5) years of experience in an Environmental, Health & Safety compliance role with extensive knowledge of EPA standards and OSHA regulations.

Experience with Microsoft Office.

Experience with EHS in a manufacturing environment.

Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.

Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
