PURPOSE OF JOB:
Provide instruction, leadership, and supervision to middle school students participating in the sports program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with practices, emphasizing teamwork, skill development, rules, strategies, and student-athlete improvement. Engage in academic monitoring with teachers, counselors, and support staff. Supervise student-athletes before, during, and after practices and contests, including in locker rooms, on buses, and at other times. Be punctual for all practices and games and stay until all student-athletes have left. Maintain care of equipment and inventory. Complete all required paperwork such as rosters, physicals, insurance, and parent consent forms. Coordinate transportation, facilities, officials, and game management. Exemplify sportsmanship and ethical conduct during practices and contests. Assist in program coordination and promote student-athletes' academic and athletic achievements. Engage in professional growth through clinics and publications. Supervisory Responsibilities
Student-athletes. Minimum Qualifications
Must hold a Teacher's Certificate, Substitute Certificate, or Temporary Teacher’s Certificate. Preferred Qualifications
Be a full or part-time employee within the District. Be employed as a teacher or administrator in the applying school. Physical Demands
The job requires sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, using hands and fingers, bending, stooping, and lifting objects of at least 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
