Overview
Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team on a direct hire basis. The Senior Accountant will support both the Accounting and Finance departments, and will manage GL entries, account reconciliations, expense analysis, and statutory reporting, among other responsibilities. Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries during month-end close, ensuring adherence to GAAP standards and all regulatory requirements. Support the creation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Review and verify the accuracy of inventory costing. Conduct regular account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy. Adjust or terminate recurring journal entries as needed based on changes to the budget or forecast. Prepare and distribute monthly departmental budget reports, comparing actual spending with the budget/forecast for management. Review financials to identify variances and provide explanations as needed. Monitor monthly expenses and ensure proper accruals are made. Maintain and update amortization schedules. Oversee accurate and timely reporting of federal, state, and local taxes. Support AP and AR teams as needed. Assist in the annual audit and tax reporting processes. Any other tasks as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification a plus, but not required. Experience working in accounting systems (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting.
