Staff Services Manager III (SSM III) — Medi-Cal Benefits Policy Branch Chief. Location: Sacramento County, California. This position offers a hybrid/telework arrangement as described in the telework information. Salary range listed: $9,572.00 - $10,867.00 monthly (New to State candidates may be hired at the minimum of the classification). About This Role
The SSM III oversees the Medi-Cal Benefits Policy Branch, Benefits Division, and assists the Division Chief in planning, organizing, and directing the work of a multidisciplinary staff. The role involves development, interpretation, implementation and evaluation of complex health care benefit policy and regulatory language for the Medi-Cal Program. Requires knowledge of health care policy development, analysis, and evaluation, strong administrative skills, and the ability to mentor staff and promote teamwork. Travel may be required up to five percent. Responsibilities
Oversee the Medi-Cal Benefits Policy Branch, Benefits Division, and support the Division Chief in policy development and implementation. Plan, organize, and direct a multidisciplinary staff; manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Analyze health care benefit and administrative policies; interpret and translate policy into regulatory language and statutes. Mentor, develop, and promote teamwork among staff; communicate effectively in writing and orally. Represent the division in various internal and external stakeholder engagements as needed.
