Overview
HR Business Partner (Midwest & Northwest Territory) serves as a strategic partner to assigned business units, aligning HR initiatives and functions with business objectives. Provides counsel to leadership on best practices to maximize employee development, engagement and retention. Champions a diverse and inclusive workforce and fosters a culture of continuous improvement through performance management. Resides ideally in the Houston area with willingness to travel to other offices and reports to the Director of Human Resources. Key Responsibilities
Serve as trusted advisor to senior executives and managers. Develop HR strategies and practices with leadership to improve employee development, performance, engagement, and retention. Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and provide day-to-day performance management guidance to managers. Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures and programs to managers and employees with support from HR Generalist and Coordinator teams. Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies. Support organizational change by developing communication plans, facilitating discussions and coaching managers and employees through transitions. Advocate for employee engagement and well-being. SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, where applicable. Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues. Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including compensation, organizational design, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, performance management, and employment laws (federal and state). Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations or related field; SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR, SPHR certification and/or a Master’s degree is a plus. Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Willingness to travel as required. Strong analytical, problem-solving and relationship management skills. Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint). Hybrid working from the Houston office is required.
