Overview
Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) performs analytical tasks related to the Office of Native American Affairs (ONAA). The SSA provides strategic-level interaction, support, and administration to help implement the Attorney General’s initiatives. Responsibilities include researching, gathering, maintaining and analyzing data; preparing reports; developing databases for tracking inquiries and correspondence; and preparing special reports on an as-needed basis. Perform independent analysis and provide recommendations pertaining to the Tribal Assistance Program (Assembly Bill 3099). Organize public and private collaboration projects involving contact with state agencies, law enforcement, legislators, Attorneys General, District Attorneys, Native American tribes, and the public. Coordinate and conduct briefings with ONAA staff on Native American tribal affairs and advise on complex or sensitive issues. Reach out to external stakeholders to arrange webinars and workshops on tribal matters. Demonstrate initiative, professionalism, tact, and discretion in all activities. Working Conditions
This position is remote-centered with telework eligibility. In-person attendance may be required. The selected candidate may report to the DOJ headquarters in Sacramento for mandated meetings or trainings. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the employee. Telework schedules may change and be reevaluated at any time. Salary and Benefits
The classification contains multiple salary ranges. New-to-State employees will be hired at the minimum salary of Range A unless Alternate Range Criteria apply.
