Requirements: High School Diploma or its equivalent. ACTIVE Florida Law Enforcement Compliance/Certification of Equivalency of Training from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. VALID Driver’s License from the Department of Motor Vehicles. For Law Enforcement Investigator II Three (3) or more years of sworn law enforcement experience. Correctional Officer and Correction Probational Officer Certifications DO NOT meet the requirements of the job description. College education can be substituted at 30 semester or 45 quarter hours per year for a maximum of one year of required experience. Individuals with less than three years of sworn law enforcement experience may be considered at a Law Enforcement Investigator I, depending on agency needs. The Division requires live within 50 miles of the assigned duty station. Distance is geodesic from residence to office. Candidate Profile:

A CAD (Competitive Area Differential) of $4,999.80 applies to Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade counties. Salary:

LEI I $60,000.00; LEI II $63,000.00 Employees are paid on a monthly pay cycle. Responses to qualifying questions must be clearly supported by the state application. Applicants must pass the Physical Abilities Test, Oral and Written Exam, and CJSTC background prior to beginning. good written and oral communication, mediation and negotiating skills; document investigations per Division policies; ensure reports are comprehensive and accurate. Interpersonal Skills:

flexibility, appropriate demeanor, teamwork, tact, leadership, ethical behavior, and professional conduct. Training and Proficiency:

proper handling of state-issued equipment and firearms; knowledge of Florida statutes, rules, AP&P, and division procedures; training completion; provide training to new investigators. Additional abilities: knowledge of criminal justice system; ability to work in dangerous and stressful situations; apply laws, gather and preserve evidence; interview suspects, victims and witnesses; operate a motor vehicle safely. Brief Description of Duties: Incumbent may be required to support disaster relief efforts; on-call 24/7; must bear firearms and maintain certification as a law enforcement officer under Florida Statutes. Investigative Activities: Conduct extensive investigations including following up leads, interviewing, warrants, arrests. Follow-up latent investigations, interview witnesses and interrogate suspects; prepare case files for prosecution; provide testimony as needed. Develop sources, collect and preserve evidence, surveillance, undercover operations; assist division personnel and other public safety entities; determine involvement of suspects in other crimes. Prepare and maintain detailed case files; develop information sources for mid to upper-level investigations. Apply diverse knowledge, develop intelligence; monitor prosecutions and forfeitures; liaison with Prosecutor. Conduct thorough background investigations on potential Department employees; maintain liaison with other entities; perform disaster-related duties as requested. Planning and Organizing: Provide complete data collection and evaluation; plan investigative activities; implement investigative plans; focus on objectives for prosecution and closure; allocate resources, monitor expenditures, and meet targets efficiently. Performs other related duties as required. The incumbent is subject to Chapter 60L-32. Retiree Considerations:
