The University of Florida College of Medicine, Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics, is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Division of Biomedical Informatics and Data Science.
Responsibilities Demonstrate expertise in deep learning, causal AI, large language models (LLMs), with a record of applying these methods to disease diagnosis and treatment in areas such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, behavioral health and developmental disabilities (including depression, autism), and type 2 diabetes. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in multimodal learning, graph neural networks, and interpretable AI. We also welcome candidates with interests in emerging areas such as multi-agent learning and the development of foundation models for electronic health records (EHRs). Strong skills in algorithm development and programming are essential, along with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate across domains.
Salary $135,000
Required Qualifications
A Ph.D. in biomedical informatics or a related discipline such as computer science or information science.
A demonstrated track record of research and scholarly contributions in biomedical informatics.
A clear commitment to pursuing a long-term academic career in the field.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in multimodal learning, graph neural networks, and interpretable AI. We also welcome candidates with interests in emerging areas such as multi-agent learning and the development of foundation models for electronic health records (EHRs).
Strong skills in algorithm development and programming are essential, along with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate across domains.
