Overview
Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC)
is hiring for a
Unit Manager
in the
Labor & Delivery Department . Under the supervision of the Clinical Director of Maternal Child Health, this position oversees the day-to-day unit operations and assumes 24-hour responsibility for the Labor and Delivery Unit. The Unit Manager will coordinate, review, and evaluate the work of assigned nursing and support staff; prepare and review work performance evaluations; develop and manage the department budget; maintain department productivity; manage hiring and disciplinary actions; manage staffing and approve schedules. Works with ARMC Leadership and Providers to maintain Patient Quality Metrics and Key Performance Indicators.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily unit operations and assume 24-hour responsibility for the Labor and Delivery Unit.
Coordinate, review, and evaluate the work of assigned nursing and support staff.
Prepare and review work performance evaluations.
Develop and manage the department budget; maintain department productivity.
Manage hiring and disciplinary actions; manage staffing and approve schedules.
Collaborate with ARMC Leadership and Providers to maintain Patient Quality Metrics and Key Performance Indicators.
Qualifications
License: Must possess and maintain Registered Nurse licensure with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.
Experience: Three (3) years as a licensed Registered Nurse; two (2) years in a Labor & Delivery Unit and one (1) year of experience as a full-scope supervisor over professional nursing staff (experience may be concurrent).
Education: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing, Business or Healthcare Administration, or related field from an accredited institution.
Certification: Must possess and maintain unit-specific certifications, including:
Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification (AWHONN)
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)
Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Experience preference: At least five (5) years of RN experience with two (2) or more years supervising professional staff in acute care. Master’s degree in Nursing or related field is highly desired.
Conditions of Employment
Pre-Employment Process: Background investigation, fingerprinting, education and work history verification, physical exam, and drug screening.
Availability: 24-hour responsibility; on-call and call-back may be required.
Certifications: Maintain required certifications and ongoing education for assigned responsibilities.
