The EHS & Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Watteredge’s Environmental, Health, and Safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role will work closely with leadership, supervisors, and employees to promote a strong safety culture, reduce workplace hazards, and ensure environmental compliance. The EHS & Safety Coordinator will be a hands-on resource for training, auditing, and continuous improvement in EHS performance. Key Responsibilities

Safety Management : Develop, maintain, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and programs. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments in all areas of the facility. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Lead safety committees and coordinate monthly meetings with employee representatives. Maintain OSHA-required safety records, logs, and reporting. Environmental Compliance

Ensure compliance with EPA, state, and local environmental regulations, including hazardous waste management, air emissions, and stormwater programs. Oversee waste disposal processes, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and transport. Maintain environmental permits and ensure reporting deadlines are met. Health Programs

Support industrial hygiene initiatives such as noise monitoring, air quality assessments, and ergonomics evaluations. Manage hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and other PPE programs. Oversee medical surveillance programs as required by regulatory standards. Training & Engagement

Conduct EHS training for new hires and ongoing employee refresher sessions. Deliver toolbox talks, safety drills, and emergency preparedness exercises. Promote employee engagement in safety improvement programs and hazard reporting. Continuous Improvement

Partner with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to reduce workplace risks. Track and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Implement lean and 5S principles to improve safety and environmental performance. Qualifications

Required : Associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, or related field, or equivalent experience. 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and relevant state regulations. Strong communication and training skills. Preferred

Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP). Hazwoper 40-hour certification. Competencies
