The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Information Technology Specialist in the Aviation Information Technology Network Security Division. Benefits

This is an advanced position requiring a high level of business acumen to enhance business operations, policy management, and a strong focus on delivering business process deliverables, including business use cases, assessments, policies, and procedures. The role aims to streamline IT Governance conformance to County standards and policies, referencing industry best practices and frameworks related to PCI-DSS, FS119, FL SB 1662, FL Statute 282, and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF). Advanced skills include creating, reviewing, and revising policies and procedures, vendor documentation, and user documentation for complex topics. The position will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to promote cyber resilience and adapt systems for aviation operations. Tasks include performing and analyzing vulnerability scans and industry intel, monitoring threat intelligence feeds, recommending remediation, implementing IT and security systems, and coordinating responses to IT Governance priorities. The role participates in the management of IT Governance systems, airport security systems, and SETA tools. Minimum Education and Experience

Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science or closely related field. One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education. Requires four (4) years of experience in systems analysis, systems design and/or applications programming relevant to area of assignment including related project management or closely related experience. All Aviation Department employees must interact courteously with the public, Airport vendors, contractors and fellow employees to maintain a professional work atmosphere. Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport issued SIDA Badge. Must be authorized to drive on County business for duration of employment. Preferences

Master's Degree in Information Systems or related field Doctorate Degree in Information Systems or related field Preferred certifications: Security+, SANS Security Management track, PCI-P, CISM, CCSK, CCSP, CISSP, and/or other security or critical infrastructure-related certifications Minimum two (2) years of experience working with airport-specific applications Additional Information

All candidates must complete an extensive work history verification and criminal background check, including fingerprinting. Per the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49, Part 1542, all airport employees must undergo a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and a Security Threat Assessment (STA) to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge, as required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The following functions represent the majority of time spent in this class; management may assign additional functions related to the job as necessary. Provides high-level technical expertise and project management direction of multiple large-scale IT initiatives, including research, analysis, design, development, and implementation. Reviews County-wide IT strategic direction and implements approved approaches. Supervises professional and technical personnel. Plans and implements emerging technologies. Administers County-wide technical functions. Performs project management for large-scale IT projects. Reviews systems designs and documentation for accuracy and compliance. Documents deployment, security, quality assurance, change controls, and compliance. Performs related work as assigned. Physical Demands
