The Staff Services Analyst (SSA) is assigned duties commensurate with the analyst’s background and training. Under supervision of a Staff Services Manager I of a Reporting Unit in the Holder Operations Bureau, the SSA performs work of average difficulty in a wide variety of consultative and analytical staff services assignments such as program evaluation and planning, training and other related work. Work at this level is distinguished by the analytical and evaluative nature of the work, rather than the performance of process-oriented assignments. The SSA will be responsible for reviewing the more complex reports and assisting with implementing program changes and procedures for functions related to the Unclaimed Property Program. Additionally, the SSA will research, analyze and write procedures, train staff on procedures and develop statistical reports for management to use for making business decisions that impact operational needs and shifting of resources based on those needs. Duties Performed: (Candidates must perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodations.) Act as Lead for a team comprised of Program Technicians I/IIs. Process the more complex digital reports and resolve the more difficult rejects from their team. Research and analyze more complex holder reports as submitted to the SCO under the UPD. Provide professional level responses orally and in writing to the holder community. Conduct research and analysis to review and verify data and information contained in more difficult Unclaimed Property reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with law and regulations and reporting procedures. Take necessary action to correct reporting deficiencies, which includes contacting holders or administrators and working to obtain clarification of information and/or additional data, using written or telephone communications. Provide responses via telephone or written communication to holders of Unclaimed Property, seeking information or clarification of more complicated issues related to the Unclaimed Property Law, NAUPA II compliance programs, and penalties for untimely reporting. Research and develop unclaimed property processing procedures and write desk procedures for report evaluation. Coordinate and conduct trainings and assist in continuously improving the curriculum and materials used to train staff on reviewing and processing reports. Provide sensitive and detailed program information to departmental officials, employees, and holders regarding the UPL, procedures, and policies. Work on special projects that include testing the database system and writing reports for statistical analysis. Prepare project tracking spreadsheets and issue papers. Run designated system reports and provide data to management. Represent the Bureau while on teams and in work groups that have divisional, departmental, and/or statewide impact on the Unclaimed Property Program. Work on complex and/or sensitive projects that have a direct impact on the efficiency and/or effectiveness of the Bureau. You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement.
