Manager, Key Account Sales, Retail & E-Commerce

Brother USA . This role manages sales for a predefined group of customers in the Business-to-Consumer Retail and E-Commerce channels. It maintains relationships with buyers at assigned accounts, drives sales through inventory and promo management, and positions new products to drive net new revenue opportunities. The role focuses on product categories: printers, multi-function devices, standalone scanners, labelers, and their consumables and accessories. This position manages a defined sales quota and predominantly focuses on selling to and engaging their customers. It works closely with product and channel marketing teams to promote consistent messaging and execute division strategies. The role is on-site and may require up to 60% travel.
Duties & Responsibilities
Account Management, Selling, & Customer Engagement: Identify and achieve sales revenue goals for accounts while maintaining profitability based on budget plans.
Maintain high levels of customer service, engagement, and account management, aligning with company interests and profitability.
Engage with customers by phone, email, and on-site presence (e.g., trade shows, meetings, QBRs).
Advertising & Promotional Strategy: Coordinate advertising plans, promo schedules, funding negotiations, and related accounting.
Plan product assortment, develop plan-o-grams, manage product transitions, offers, stock levels, and web developments.
Special Projects & Initiatives: Support cross-functional projects, inventory planning, and related activities.
Demand Planning & Forecasting: Forecast supplies monthly based on seasonality and market trends; collaborate with credit, advertising, supply chain, logistics to resolve issues.
Administration & Reporting: Complete monthly reports, provide competitive updates, and participate in relevant meetings; stay informed on market trends.
Experience & Qualifications Education
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Marketing, or related field
Experience
Minimum 7 years in sales accounts with emphasis on driving results; experience building rapport in a client-facing role
Minimum 4 years in a related industry or in learning new products/technology quickly (preferred)
Software/Technical Skills
Understanding of the computer peripheral space (Printer/Fax/MFC products and solutions)
Knowledge of inventory and CRM tools (preferably Salesforce)
Other Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
Collaborate and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients
Diagnose customer issues and problem-solve for solutions
Strong communication skills (verbal/written/interpersonal)
Ability to craft and deliver professional presentations to all levels of an organization
Additional Details For This Role This role is a remote field-based role. A fixed office schedule is not an expectation. The defined sales territory includes Staples and Office Depot. Travel is expected up to 40% of the time (approximately 6-8 trips per quarter).
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: Targeted range $70,000 – $94,000 per year. Salary determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and market factors.
Additional Compensation: Eligible for a $22,000 annual sales bonus (target-based) and a 6.86% bonus at target, with eligibility for above-target based on performance and company plans.
Auto allowance paid monthly; travel & entertainment policy governs mileage and travel expenses.
