Lawyers on Demand, a Consilio Company, is currently seeking a temporary
Defense Litigation Paralegal
to support one of our prestigious law firm clients for an on-site, then potentially hybrid assignment in
White Plains, NY . Start Date:
ASAP Duration:
12 months Hours:
Full-time Location:
Hybrid – On-site every day for the first month then, generally three days a week in the office. Compensation:
$25.00/hr - $40.00/hr New:
Base pay range
$25.00/hr - $40.00/hr
Responsibilities
Act as the primary paralegal on complex litigation for defense clients, overseeing daily case operations and critical deadlines.
Oversee individual case files and active investigations, working in close coordination with attorneys to deliver comprehensive legal support.
Document organization and file intake; ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and procedural compliance.
Manage and update a litigation tracking system to monitor key deadlines, assess case trends, and provide data-driven insights.
Perform in-depth reviews of sensitive documents tied to ongoing investigations, extracting and summarizing relevant facts for attorney analysis.
Draft, revise, and process legal filings, including motions, agreements, discovery materials, and internal correspondence.
Identify and resolve procedural or case-related issues, contributing to strategic planning and risk mitigation efforts.
Research and synthesize data from internal systems and platforms to strengthen case development and investigative work.
Coordinate with outside counsel, as needed to align on litigation tactics, share updates, and maintain consistent defense strategies.
Candidate Profile
2 - 5 years of experience as a paralegal.
Knowledge of law office procedures with specific experience in general liability defense litigation.
Experience with drafting discovery demands, responding to pleadings, correspondence to clients, and carriers.
Experience with medical providers and opposing parties, as well as preparing deposition summaries and materials for depositions and trials.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage complex case materials.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
