Overview
Crisis Hotline Phone Counselor (Full-Time) role at Santé Group Companies — Timonium, MD. This is an in-person role (NOT remote). What You’ll Do
Work in a high-stress environment addressing callers with crisis needs. Assess each caller’s presenting problem, support systems, coping skills, and level of emergency to determine appropriate intervention. Document information in the client case file. Deescalate a crisis over the phone, build rapport, and maintain objectivity and professionalism. Triager a call to the appropriate level of care. Conduct lethality assessments and dispatch appropriate resources when necessary. Complete environmental risk and safety assessments and relay information to appropriate teams. Access bed registry and other resources to connect callers to services. Comply with GBRICS Crisis Standards and Lifeline/Crisis Now standards. If self-identified as a peer, participate in regular peer support sessions. Adhere to the organization’s Secondary Trauma Prevention policy and confidentiality requirements. Develop realistic crisis plans and follow-up tasks based on symptoms. Maintain knowledge of community resources and participate in program database development. Communicate client needs effectively to internal referrals and complete documentation accurately and timely. Ensure all tasks related to each case are completed during each shift. Seek consultation with a supervisor or team lead when needed and participate in required trainings. Work with families to deescalate current crises and comply with applicable laws and organizational guidelines. Monitor email per agency protocol and cover assigned Sante holiday shifts as needed. What We Require
Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field 1 year of professional crisis work experience may be substituted for the education requirement What You’ll Get
