The Department of Radiation Oncology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center—Comprehensive Cancer Center—Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Institute (OSUCCC-James) is seeking a Radiation Oncologist to function as Clinical Director. The OSUCCC-James is a leading cancer hospital with a national reputation for cancer care, education, and research. Academic rank and track are commensurate with academic record and experience. Position Overview
The Clinical Director reports to the Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology via the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations. The Clinical Director will oversee all activities of the Radiation Oncology Department, including clinical services at the main campus and breast center, quality of care, resource utilization, protocol and practice guideline development, and supervision of Residents and Fellows. The Director will ensure accreditation and regulatory standards are met (Joint Commission, HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable bodies) and foster collaboration across clinical, research, and administrative teams. This position represents the department in institutional and external engagements and drives initiatives to advance patient outcomes, faculty development, and program excellence. As Physician-Clinical, the role includes licensed medical care: diagnosis, treatment (including surgical or pre/post-surgical care where appropriate), case management, and clinical research. The Physician manages complex situations and must be competent in technical, clinical, and surgical skills (where appropriate), cognitive and interpersonal skills, and must practice within Medical Center standards and policies.
