Description
Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the Controller. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of accuracy, solid understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills.
Major Responsibilities:
Prepare and post general ledger journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare month end journal entries, accruals and adjustments
Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process, including responsibility for account analysis and account reconciliation
Reconcile bank transactions and bank statements, including matching daily transactions to proper support, researching items when necessary
Maintaining fixed asset records and depreciation schedules as internal policy and US GAAP dictates
Review of AP and AR transactions as needed
Enter AP invoices or create AR invoices as needed
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
Participate in financial audits
Assist with special projects
Ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or determined by management

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
3 to 5 years of Full Cycle Accounting or related experience
Restaurant/Hospitality experience preferred but not required
Multi-unit experience preferred
Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook
Experience with accounting software or ERP system
Highly familiar with spreadsheet creation, formatting, and functionality
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Experience in hospitality preferred but not required
Superior organization skills
Reliable with patience and professionalism
