Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional
English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher
who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. This is an exciting opportunity for teachers who desire to serve where their efforts matter. BPS supports creativity, innovation, and respects teachers' skills and abilities. Reports to: Principal/Head of School Responsibilities
Teach: English as a Second Language: Provide ESL instruction to Multilingual Learners identified as English Learners. Collaborate with content teachers to align instruction supporting students' English language development and classroom needs. Coordinate with instructional leadership to ensure ELL students receive necessary academic support. Assist with ACCESS administration and oversee ELL student transition meetings. Plan and deliver lessons aligned with WIDA Standards for varying proficiency levels. Use culturally relevant instructional practices and integrate technology. Understand and utilize WIDA’s ELD Standards and Can Do Descriptors. Support classroom teachers with mandated assessments for ELL students. Participate in professional development to stay current with ELL instruction strategies. Core Competencies

Bachelor's degree Valid Massachusetts ESL Teaching License Compliance with licensing and other requirements as specified by BPS.
