Banquet Captain (Part-Time)
at Hyatt — Oceanside, CA. Join our dynamic team in a beautiful setting with an unobstructed view of the ocean, delivering authentic and memorable experiences for guests. The Banquet Captain is responsible for making the function space visually appealing and presenting the menu offering for events. This includes linen and table settings, food station design, and beverage service. You may assist with scheduling required staff for banquet functions and ensuring a sanitary environment. The hourly rate for this position is $17.35/hr. Responsibilities
Make the function space visually appealing and present the menu offering for events. May include linen and table setting, food station design, and beverage service. Oversee general banquet preparation, room refreshes, and maintain a sanitary environment. Assist with scheduling required staff for banquet functions. Adhere to proper food handling and beverage procedures. Operate with knowledge of equipment use and safety procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Maintain high standards of guest service and teamwork. Qualifications
3+ years of related F&B and/or hospitality experience. 2+ years in Banquet Captain or Catering Supervisor role. 2+ years of supervisory experience, skills, and abilities. A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment. Experience and thorough understanding of banquet service. Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently without direct supervision. Ability to perform basic mathematic calculations. Excellent time management and planning skills; ability to prioritize and organize work assignments. Ability to stand for long periods and lift a moderate amount of weight. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Benefits
