A law firm seeks an experienced Debt Finance Associate to join their dynamic team in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years of experience in structuring, documenting, and negotiating secured and unsecured financing transactions. The role will involve both borrower and lender-side work, including senior secured, mezzanine, subordinated debt transactions, and loan workouts. Candidates with leveraged finance experience, particularly in mergers and acquisitions, are highly preferred.
Duties:
Draft and negotiate various financing agreements, including secured and unsecured loans, acquisition financings, and loan workouts.
Advise both borrowers and lenders on the full spectrum of financing transactions.
Work on complex debt capital market transactions, ensuring alignment with client needs and market trends.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide strategic solutions to clients involved in high-stakes, large-scale transactions.
Support clients in navigating leveraged finance matters, particularly in the context of mergers and acquisitions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and legal developments relevant to debt finance.
Requirements:
2-6 years of experience in debt finance or a related field.
Proven experience in structuring, documenting, and negotiating both secured and unsecured financing transactions.
Experience in acquisition financings and loan workouts.
Background in leveraged finance, especially in relation to mergers and acquisitions, is preferred.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in California.
Skills:
Strong legal drafting and negotiation abilities.
Excellent communication and client management skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
A deep understanding of debt finance market trends and legal frameworks.
