Exempt Job Summary:
The position involves providing legal and regulatory support to Beazley, which primarily includes supporting the Licensing & Data Privacy team. This role supports Canadian insurance licensing requirements. Additionally, all Regulatory Counsel are expected to be or become subject matter experts for regulatory questions concerning specific products that Beazley sells, e.g. cyber insurance. This role will be responsible for keeping abreast certain States regulatory requirements and horizon scanning. This requires routinely attending APCIA conference calls as well utilizing Beazley\'s horizon scanning tools. Regulatory Counsel research and analyse regulatory requirements, draft responses to complaints and litigation. The role requires ensuring that legislative changes are monitored and communicated to relevant personnel, performing regulatory research, and developing training materials. The position involves drafting legal documents and managing outside legal counsel. This role will routinely liaise with other departments, including the Information Security and IT departments, Finance, Underwriting and Claims.
