What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations before trial
Defend assigned matters by trial or dispositive hearing
Document files in a clear and professional manner for various stakeholders
What is Required (Qualifications)
2-6+ years of litigation experience in insurance, defense, and/or personal injury
Juris Doctor degree
Admission to the California Bar and licensed in good standing
Ability to travel as required for trials, hearings, and meetings
Strong organizational skills and ability to follow complex instructions
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Civil litigation experience
Insurance defense-related litigation experience
Professional communication skills in-person, via telephone, and in written correspondence
