What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations
Defend assigned matters by trial or dispositive hearing
Document files in a clear and professional manner for all stakeholders
What is Required (Qualifications)
2-6+ years of litigation experience in insurance, defense, and/or personal injury
Juris Doctor degree
Admission to the California Bar and must be in good standing
Ability to travel as required for trials, hearings, and meetings
Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow complex instructions and resolve conflicts
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Civil litigation experience
Experience in insurance defense-related litigation
Ability to communicate professionally in person, via telephone, and through written correspondence
