in HDR's national Power Generation team. The role focuses on leading mechanical engineering for power generation projects (natural gas and potentially renewable energy), serving as Engineer of Record or Owner’s Engineer, and collaborating with a multi-discipline team that supports projects in utility, IPP, industrial, and institutional sectors. Lead the project mechanical team and coordinate with other engineering disciplines; monitor and communicate project status; provide mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner’s engineer projects on both technical and contractual levels. Plan, schedule, and lead design projects; deliver construction drawings, bid specifications, mechanical equipment sizing calculations, memos, bid evaluations, code reviews, feasibility studies, reports, and cost estimates. Contribute to the design and specification of power generation systems for simple cycle, combined cycle, distributed generation, and RICE projects. Project roles will vary and may include lead mechanical engineer, project engineering manager, and possibly project manager; most work is performed through collaboration with engineers and designers from several disciplines. Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university. Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation design. Gas turbine, steam turbine and/or large reciprocating engine experience or subject matter expertise. Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation. Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm desired. Minimum 10 years of experience, ideally in the fossil power industry with a blend of design and owner’s engineer projects. Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments. Excellent communication and analytical skills. Willing to mentor less experienced engineers and EITs. Proficient at working within an established schedule and budget. Travel expectation of less than 10 percent for meetings with clients and vendors as well as project site visits. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. A minimum of 10 years of experience. Professional Engineers license (PE or P.Eng). Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector. Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit). The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. The targeted salary range for this position is $108,661 - $204,250.
