HDR . HDR is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our national Power Generation team. You will join a multi-discipline team that supports power and energy projects within the utility, IPP, industrial, and institutional sectors. Primary duties include leadership of the project mechanical team, coordination with other engineering disciplines, monitoring and communicating project status, and providing mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner’s engineer projects on technical and contractual levels. Opportunities are available in multiple locations across the United States, including Austin, Ann Arbor, Boise, Bismarck, Billings, Charlotte, Chicago, Denver, Irvine, Fort Worth, Houston, Honolulu, Kansas City, Madison, Minneapolis, Missoula, Omaha, Phoenix, Portland, Richmond, Raleigh, Sacramento/Folsom, San Diego, Seattle, Spokane, St Louis, Syracuse and more. The role emphasizes experience with utility-scale power generation systems and equipment, and the ability to plan, schedule, and lead design projects. Typical deliverables include construction drawings, bid specifications, mechanical equipment sizing calculations, technical memos, bid evaluations, code reviews, feasibility studies, reports, and cost estimates. Experience with simple cycle, combined cycle, distributed generation, and RICE projects is preferred. Responsibilities

Lead the project mechanical team and coordinate with other engineering disciplines. Monitor project status and communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Provide mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner’s engineer projects on technical and contractual levels. Develop and supervise deliverables such as drawings, specifications, calculations, memos, evaluations, and studies. Mentor less experienced engineers and EITs; manage multiple concurrent assignments. Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation design. Gas turbine, steam turbine and/or large reciprocating engine experience or subject matter expertise. Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation. Experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm is desired. Minimum 10 years of experience in the fossil power industry with design and owner’s engineer project experience. Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments; excellent communication and analytical skills. Willing to mentor less experienced engineers and EITs. Proficient in working within established schedules and budgets. Travel expectation is less than 10% for client/vendor meetings and project site visits. Proficiency with standard software and tools relevant to power market design (e.g., PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit). Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license. Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering. A minimum of 10 years of experience. Professional Engineer license (PE or P.Eng). Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
