Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Float $15,000 Sign On Bonus Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care operates urgent care centers across the Connecticut area. We seek experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners with urgent care or emergency room experience to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers in the surrounding region. Float within 30 miles of the home center for additional float pay. Sign-on bonus up to $15,000 for full-time external candidates. Job Summary

Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside a physician, it is essential to have excellent assessment skills to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary. Responsibilities

Examine and treat patients; take medical histories; order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays Make diagnoses and prescribe medications; treat minor injuries requiring sutures, splints, or casting Educate and counsel patients; order and carry out therapies as appropriate Vaccinate patients and refer to additional care as needed Work shifts as assigned (four, eight or twelve hours) by an authorized representative Collaborate with supervising physicians and other healthcare professionals Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications

Education

Bachelor\'s Degree required for Physician Assistants Master\'s Degree required for Nurse Practitioners Work Experience

2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred Licenses/Certifications

National Certification Active state medical licensure Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Room settings Proficiency with general office procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting) Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records is preferred Strong communication and customer service skills Benefits
