Overview
Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Up to $15,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates. Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care operates urgent care centers across the Connecticut area. We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who have urgent care or emergency room experience, treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers in the surrounding region.

Responsibilities
Urgent care clinical services for acute episodic conditions including sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections.
Function in lieu of or alongside a physician; have excellent assessment skills to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room when necessary.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays; make diagnoses and prescribe medications.
Treat minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting; record progress notes for follow-up.
Educate and counsel patients; order and/or carry out therapy; give vaccinations and refer patients to additional care as appropriate.
Schedule: approximately four (4), eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift, assigned by an authorized GoHealth Urgent Care representative.
All other duties as assigned within the scope of urgent care practice.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants
Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
Work Experience
2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required
Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice settings
Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications
National Certification
Active state medical licensure
Additional Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting
Applicable office procedures including suturing, splinting, etc.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Preferred
Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
Strong communication and customer service skills
