Media & Influencer Relations: Lead media efforts with relationships across at least 10 key business, finance, or industry publications; craft pitches; identify emerging media opportunities; develop influencer strategies (LinkedIn, podcasts, niche financial media); use social channels to elevate client visibility; track performance and ROI; mentor junior team members. Client Service & Program Management: Deliver client programs (media relations, executive thought leadership, awards, speaking, content); manage day-to-day communications and weekly PR calls; manage projects from start to finish; develop quarterly PR plans and calendars; monitor industry and regulatory news for proactive commentary; lead media training sessions; assist in planning budgets and resources. Writing & Content Development: Write and edit content with emphasis on financial, legal, or professional services nuance (press releases, pitches, articles, speaking abstracts, backgrounders, Q&As, briefing books); translate complex ideas into accessible narratives; maintain brand-consistent tone and quality. Insights, Analytics & Integration: Lead client reporting using analytics tools; apply data to evolve storytelling and optimize campaigns; collaborate with internal teams to ensure integrated delivery; support AI adoption where appropriate. Mentorship & Collaboration: Coach junior staff, contribute to a collaborative culture, and lead with transparency and professionalism. Agency Engagement & Operations: Support new business by contributing research and participating in pitches; share expertise through blogs, trainings, or client case studies; participate in industry events and model Highwire’s flexible work culture; suggest workflow improvements. Professional Growth & Self-Development: Set quarterly goals with your manager; prioritize tasks; take ownership of timelines; seek feedback and act on it; stay updated on financial services, insurtech, and business news. What You Bring
3–5 years of PR/communications in an agency setting (required). Experience in financial services, insurtech, or other professional services industries (required). Strong media relationships across business, financial, and trade outlets; ability to distill complex topics into engaging stories. Excellent writing and editing skills; confident in managing client relationships and internal teams. Familiarity with analytics tools and reporting best practices; collaborative, solutions-oriented approach. Success at Highwire Looks Like
