Naik Group is a dynamic, multi-discipline engineering company with offices in New York and New Jersey. We offer a full range of professional services including Bridge/Structural Design & Inspection, Highway/Roadway Engineering, Civil/Site Engineering, Traffic Engineering/ITS, Utility Engineering, Construction Management & Inspection, Design Build, Survey, Right of Way, and High Definition 3-D Laser Scanning. We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with an emphasis in highway and roadway design for our Edison, NJ office. The role involves applying fundamental engineering principles across all phases of infrastructure project development, including surveying, geometrics, hydraulics, cost estimating, and transportation engineering, using applicable software. The candidate reports to the Director of Civil/Highway Design Services.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of roadway, highway, and transportation projects in accordance with federal, state, and local standards (e.g., AASHTO, DOT, FHWA). Prepare and review plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports. Oversee and mentor junior engineers and design staff throughout the project lifecycle. Coordinate with clients, agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery. Manage project budgets, schedules, and scopes, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. Conduct site visits and provide construction support services as needed. Stay current on industry trends, codes, and innovative design technologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's Degree preferred. 7+ years of experience in civil engineering with emphasis in highway and roadway design. Professional Engineer License (NY or NJ) required. Proficiency in CADD (MicroStation and InRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D), AutoTURN, Microsoft Office, and various civil design applications. Experience in producing plans, specifications, and engineer’s estimates for roadway projects for NJDOT, NJTA, PANYNJ, and county or municipal agencies. Strong roadway engineering skills including geometric design, grading, permitting, utility coordination, drainage design, and 3D roadway modeling.
