Overview

Lead a Dynamic Team and Drive Success as a Preconstruction Manager at DAVID HALL MASONRY, INC. Location: Ripon, CA. Pay Range: $130,000+ per year. Reports to the Company President. The Preconstruction Manager will oversee a team of 3-4 Estimators, guide the preparation of bid proposals, manage change orders, and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development: Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing estimating team; review and evaluate the accuracy and performance of junior estimators; monitor department KPIs and team performance. Bid Management & Oversight: Evaluate bid invitations, assign estimating projects, oversee preparation and submission of accurate, competitive bid proposals, revise estimates as needed, coordinate input from departments, subcontractors, and suppliers; ensure bid formats meet client requirements and internal standards; maintain bid log and estimating database. Client & Stakeholder Communication: Act as primary point of contact for clients during the proposal stage; maintain relationships and identify opportunities for future business; participate in pre- and post-bid meetings; review awarded contracts against bid documents and advise the President prior to execution. Process & Quality Control: Ensure a standardized estimating process meets project requirements and quality standards; conduct desk reviews to confirm documentation (contracts, LOIs, proposals); track change orders and coordinate with Operations; support handoff to Project Management when projects are awarded. Cost Analysis & Optimization: Review supplier and subcontractor quotations; analyze data for cost efficiencies; monitor economic trends and factor cost implications into estimating strategy. Additional Responsibilities: Assist with building permit submissions as needed and promote company services to clients. Qualifications

Experience & Education: 5+ years in construction estimating or related leadership; High School Diploma or GED required; additional coursework in construction management or business is a plus. Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to mentor and develop estimating teams; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Communication & Client Relations: Excellent written and verbal communication; client-focused with ability to present proposals and lead meetings. Analytical & Technical Skills: Strong numerical and analytical abilities; attention to detail in evaluating bid proposals and change orders; experience managing supplier relationships and adapting to material lead times. Regulatory & Documentation Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret technical documents, architectural plans, and regulations; competent in writing reports and procedural documentation. Software & Technology: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project; advanced experience with On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, and Procore. Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of construction industry standards, cost estimating methodologies, and ability to research and present proposals. Benefits
