Senior Mechanical Engineer - Equipment - LNG Overview

Senior Mechanical Engineer supporting LNG projects, including Floating LNG, On-Shore LNG Export, LNG Peak shaving, FPSO, or regasification. Provide mentoring, leadership, and technical expertise for custom engineered equipment used in design and construction.

The Opportunity

Select and implement appropriate designs for compressors, pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, vaporizers, tanker loading arms, fired equipment or other packaged equipment.

Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer equipment suitable for LNG and Floating LNG projects.

Prepare equipment cost estimating and manhours for FEED and Detailed Design phases.

Lead and coordinate meetings with internal disciplines, external consultants, clients, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors/fabricators worldwide.

Coordinate between US and India based design teams.

Prepare equipment data sheets and technical specifications for bid and purchase.

Perform bid clarifications/meetings with bidders and prepare technical bid evaluations/summaries for equipment.

Participate in client project meetings and coordinate with the equipment team.

Participate in design and model reviews, HAZOP reviews, and constructability reviews.

Develop construction sub-contracts for mechanical equipment and modularization efforts.

Participate in on-site start-up and commissioning as needed.

Attend pre-inspection, inspections, and testing on fired equipment in vendor shops.

Team and Focus The Mechanical Engineering Department is a global team delivering high-quality, on-time design and services in Power, Gas, Fuels & Chemicals, Water and Waste Water, Data Centers, and Mining. Projects cover Process and Power, LNG, Hydrogen, and related specialties.

Preferred Qualifications Qualified candidates will have experience in most of the following areas:

Project Types: Floating LNG, LNG Export, LNG Peak shaving, FPSO, Offshore Oil & Gas, Regasification; Hydrogen projects or other mid-stream processes; Offshore platforms or vessels.

Project Execution: Expertise in specification and procurement of custom engineered equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, fired heaters, flares, thermal oxidizers, etc.); experience from concept through start-up; ability to read detailed drawings; AutoCAD for datasheets/drawings; equipment inspection per API/NACE standards; machinery control and health monitoring; on-site shop inspections; team leadership of ~15 engineers.

Codes and Standards: ASME, API, NFPA, TEMA, offshore classifications (DNV, LR, ABS), NBIC, stress analysis, API and ASME codes, NACE, welding standards, etc.

Software: Knowledge of Design/Analysis tools including pressure vessel design software and heat exchanger design tools (HTRI).

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience. Minimum 11 years related experience. Active engineering licensure/registration to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for projects in applicable countries.

Work Environment and Schedule

Office environment with potential site tasks; occasional physical activity during site visits.

10-25% domestic and international travel may be expected.

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after 90 days based on manager discretion and performance.
