Director, Consumer Sales . This role is responsible for building media partnerships with consumer brands including event and experiential sponsorships, sponsored content, digital, video and social solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to join IndieWire and help drive growth with our live media and sponsored content business. The role requires a hands-on, entrepreneurial attitude and a creative, imaginative seller who will craft smart, custom solutions for partners that reflect the IndieWire brand ethos that celebrates top talent and content. IndieWire occupies a unique space in the entertainment industry, with opportunities for consumer partners across a live media slate that includes top film festivals, awards events, educational summits and activations, as well as custom video and sponsored content aimed at our savvy readership in the entertainment industry and among enthusiasts. Responsibilities Generate revenue through live and virtual events, digital media, custom, branded and sponsored content sales Develop and drive innovative new revenue opportunities across all platforms Initiate, grow and maintain new and existing client and agency relationships Proactively build and maintain a pipeline of sales targets, contacts, and sales opportunities Develop integrated 360 client/agency pitches that include display, video, social and mobile including experiential and custom content integrations Collaborate and ideate with sales, marketing, editorial, video and event teams Build deeper relationships and awareness of IndieWire’s offerings at both clients and agencies Qualifications Must Have: Proven track record as a top multiplatform seller with a history of consistently meeting/exceeding quotas Relationships with senior level executives at brands and agencies in key verticals such as tech, travel, consumer product goods (CPG), auto, spirits, fashion Experience closing large and complex deals with advertisers and key agency stakeholders Minimum of 5 years’ client-facing experience in a similar business development role in a highly entrepreneurial environment Excellent communication, interpersonal collaboration, and problem-solving skills Superior communication and negotiation skills Ability to understand partner KPIs and craft creative custom solutions Ability to navigate internal relationships and collaborate with other sellers, divisions and brands within PMC/IW Willingness to travel for meetings and events as needed, entertain clients and attend industry events Well-organized, self-motivated and driven Knowledge of the Film and TV landscape and respective industries preferred Openness to candidates with sponsor/partnership background or development experience in arts organizations, film festivals or publishers Work Arrangement As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture. Compensation and Benefits Typical wage range: $90k - $110k plus paid commission for achieving specific revenue targets. The total compensation package includes medical, financial, and other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off. The company pays 100% of the monthly health, dental and vision plan premiums for the employee and their family for this role. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an offer is extended. At-hire, you may be asked to align with company salary practices; the offer may be below or at midpoint based on experience.
