HDR is looking for an Electrical Engineering Leader to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) Business Group in Folsom or Walnut Creek, CA. As a Technical Lead, the role coordinates with a multidiscipline design team from planning through construction administration, developing construction drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations, and reviewing shop drawings during construction. Responsibilities
Take responsibility for area coordination, monitoring and improving technical competencies of staff and products to meet client needs and market drivers within business class plans Participate in delivery of project services to meet client expectations Collaborate on business class efforts with area operations, marketing and project management Participate in practice groups and projects to improve standards and quality assurance/quality control Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and plan implementation Work cooperatively with other area leaders, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers Assist in operations of the production section including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support May function as an Assistant Project Manager and assist with production on projects in addition to management responsibilities Assist with administrative responsibility for section staff and coordinate services with other sections Engage in marketing planning, proposals and interviews Be directly involved with industrial and public clients in marketing, project production and related issues Ensure that work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management Implement, monitor and support company policy Assist in selecting, training, developing and managing technical personnel Collaborate with National Directors and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production efforts Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications
Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand Master\'s degree in electrical engineering Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm Electrical PE licensure in California Strong communication and listening skills Ability to handle multiple assignments Good leadership and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Proficiency with SKM electrical system modeling software Proficiency with lighting modeling software such as Visual *LI-MO1 Required Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in a professional field (Architecture, Engineering or closely related) 10 years of experience Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values Maintains a professional or engineering registration with related technical experience Experience in development and management of diverse teams Works cooperatively with other area leaders and managers on business class efforts Active participant in HDR\'s employee-owned culture What We Believe
