Come join the fast-growing Electrical business class in the Building Engineering Services (BES) group at HDR. BES provides industry leading electrical, mechanical, plumbing, site civil, structural, control systems, fire & life safety, and lighting design services for a wide variety of buildings that include public, municipal, private, and government project types. Projects are a balance of local as well as across the region. With a team of experienced staff in market sectors such as Water/Wastewater, Datacenters, Healthcare, and Industrial facilities, we provide engineering excellence for our clients.
Responsibilities
Perform engineering assignments under the direct supervision of a licensed engineer
Design tasks involving judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying engineering techniques and procedures
Production of design drawings and construction documents through the use of Revit, AutoCAD, and other design software
Preparation of design and calculations
Preparation of specifications and contract documents
Other duties as assigned by the supervising engineer
Coordination with other disciplines as necessary
When required, coordinate the work of one or more project team members
Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in engineering
Previous healthcare experience with an architectural or engineering consulting firm desired
Previous datacenter experience with an architectural or engineering consulting firm desired
Previous water/wastewater experience with an architectural or engineering consulting firm desired
Preference given to local candidates
Required Qualifications
Associate\'s degree in engineering or related field of study or equivalent work experience
A minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in the discipline to be supported
Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline to be supported
Extensive knowledge of industry standards specific to the discipline being supported
Proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary environments
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
