Overview
The Sheriff\'s Department is recruiting Experienced Communications Dispatchers to dispatch and maintain continuous communication with emergency units in the field. Positions are primarily located at the Valley Control Center in Rialto and the Desert Control Center in Hesperia. Each center serves as the primary 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for its geographic location. Multiple vacancies exist at both locations. Two excellent benefits packages to choose from. Bonuses and Pay - $2,000 hiring bonus (details: $1,000 on hire and $1,000 after 2080 service hours).
- $750 referral bonus (details: $250 to the referring employee if the referred candidate is hired into an eligible regular position and $500 after completion of 2080 service hours; view the MOU for details).
- 2.5% salary increase every six months.
- Boost your base pay by $1.75/hr by selecting the Modified Benefit Option (MBO).
- Post differential pay: Intermediate $1.00/hr, Advanced $1.50/hr.

Maintain and dispatch emergency units in the field and ensure continuous communication across centers as part of the 9-1-1 PSAP operations. Positions are located at the Valley Control Center (Rialto) and Desert Control Center (Hesperia).
Qualifications and Requirements
Conditions of Employment Certificate:
Successful completion of 120 or 160-hour P.O.S.T. Basic Dispatcher course and a satisfactory work performance evaluation. Background:
Candidates must not have a felony conviction and must pass an extensive background investigation including fingerprint check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation. Shifts:
Available for all shifts; rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, evenings, and mandatory overtime; shift refusals may affect placement. Shift differential is available. Availability:
24/7 operation with rotating, night, weekend, day, and graveyard shifts, including holidays and weekends. Sponsorship:

One year of emergency dispatch experience with a law enforcement agency. Preferred qualifications include: 40-hour Computer-aided Dispatching System Training Course Certificate DOJ certified CLETS course DOJ certified DMV course Emergency dispatching experience with a law enforcement agency within the past five years Examination : Competitive evaluation based on application and supplemental questionnaire. Provide detailed work experience to your advantage.
