is actively seeking a highly motivated, full-time Security Manager
in
Falls Church, VA – U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) . *This position is contingent on the award of a federal contract. Key Responsibilities Policy & Compliance Oversight:
Develop, implement, and manage enterprise security policies, procedures, and compliance programs in alignment with federal and DoD requirements. Suitability & Adjudication:
Provide technical guidance on DoD/OPM suitability adjudication processes, including completion of adjudications under the OPM Fundamentals of Suitability course requirements. Childcare Background Checks (CBC):
Facilitate full criminal history checks on staff, from initiation through adjudication and due process. Assist in developing and maintaining a database to track all personnel requiring CBCs, including annual recertification and 5-year renewals. Prepare and deliver a monthly summary of investigations as part of program performance reporting.
Documentation & Policy Development:
Draft, review, and revise policies, SOPs, CONOPS, and implementation plans to strengthen security posture and compliance. Interagency Coordination:
Engage with DoD and federal partners to ensure effective coordination, policy development, and resolution of security-related issues. Training & Reporting:
Develop training materials, briefings, and reports to support enterprise-wide security awareness. Manage action tracking, partner engagement documentation, and meeting minutes for senior leadership.
Database Management:
Oversee data entry, reporting, and accuracy of security-related databases and information systems. Required Qualifications Minimum of a
Bachelor’s degree
in Emergency Management, Security Studies, Public Policy, Information Security, or a related discipline.
In lieu of a degree,
10 years of progressively responsible experience
may be substituted.
5+ years of relevant professional experience
in security, policy, or program management. U.S. Citizenship
and eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Successful completion of the
Federal Coordinating Center (FCC) Course
within the last 3 years. Completion of the
OPM Fundamentals of Suitability and Fitness Adjudicators course . Proficiency with
Microsoft Office Suite
and collaboration tools. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of
DoD childcare background check policies . Strong understanding of
personnel, information, and industrial security policies
in federal or DoD environments. Demonstrated ability to coordinate interagency efforts, develop policies, and provide action officer-level support. Strong database management, reporting, and documentation skills. Compensation:
