Jobs are located in various parts of Maryland, such as Howard County, Anne Arundel County, etc. DUIT is a certified, awarding winning, and innovative information technology team seeking talented telecommunications network engineers to strengthen our organization. Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and sustainment of existing networks and identify/correct issues. Resolve routine network problems; operate network analyzers, WAN test equipment, and network simulators. Monitor data or voice system networks for alarms or issues; activate scripts as alarms occur or issues surface; confirm accuracy and determine severity. Initiate resolution as appropriate; troubleshoot problems using scripts and standard procedures and escalate as needed. Research issues to determine if they can be resolved using predefined procedures; resolve basic issues and document results. Communicate occurrences of alarms or issues and actions taken to resolve or escalate. Execute scheduled maintenance routines in accordance with standard procedures. Identify issues and resolve as appropriate; escalate when necessary. Activate/deactivate network lines according to established schedules. Perform first- and/or second-level problem determination (first level is help desk). Interface with users and/or network vendors; follow detailed work instructions. Why work for us?

In addition to general telecommunications network engineering skills, the candidate shall possess the following: Act as a subject matter expert for the customer’s next generation firewall solution. Maintain firewall operations and document the current environment. Incorporate change management into all processes and procedures. Creation of technically detailed reports on firewall block lists, device status, change management, hardware/software upgrades, and other areas. Analyze and evaluate anomalous network and system activity. Assist in troubleshooting and problem solving across a wide variety of client issues. Experience with change control policy and procedures. An understanding of DoD information assurance policy and regulations. Performing analysis of network security needs and contribute to design, integration, and installation of hardware and software. Analyze, troubleshoot and correct network problems remotely and on-site. Maintaining and administering perimeter security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Qualifications You Will Bring
Security+ CE certification or equivalent DoD 8570 baseline certification Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Experience with Cisco Dynamic VPN (DMVPN) technology Experience with Force Point, Palo Alto, and Cisco ASA firewalls required Minimum of four (4) years of experience with managing enterprise firewall and VPN solutions
