Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Payroll Specialist
to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-volume payroll processing, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time. This role is vital in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and fostering employee trust through timely and accurate payroll administration. Key Responsibilities: Process high-volume payroll cycles (bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly) for employees across multiple locations. Collect, verify, and enter timekeeping and payroll data, resolving discrepancies promptly. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and labor laws. Administer deductions, benefits, garnishments, and direct deposits accurately. Prepare payroll tax filings and reports; collaborate with Finance on tax compliance and audits. Maintain confidential payroll records and update employee information in payroll systems. Respond to employee inquiries about pay, taxes, deductions, and timekeeping systems. Generate and analyze payroll reports for leadership and regulatory compliance. Partner with HR and Accounting to ensure payroll alignment with employee records and financial systems. Qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience processing high-volume payroll
(e.g., 300+ employees); multi-state payroll experience strongly preferred. Proficiency in payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, Gusto) and Microsoft Excel. In-depth understanding of payroll regulations, taxes, and compliance requirements. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet strict deadlines. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. High level of discretion in handling sensitive employee and company information. Seniority level
