CEIS | Governmentis looking for a Civil & Mechanical Superintendentto support project sites in Jackson, South Carolina. Under the direction of the Project Manager, this role is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and scheduling civil or mechanical construction activities to ensure project execution meets contract requirements, cost estimates, and safety and quality standards. The Superintendent will oversee field crews, subcontractors, and equipment to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to specification in a nuclear or high-consequence environment.
Responsibilities
Maintain strong working relationships with clients, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Ensure all field activities are conducted safely and in accordance with quality and safety standards.
Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating the project schedule; ensure subcontractor alignment with the master schedule.
Lead creation of detailed look-ahead schedules and help develop recovery plans when schedule or budget risks arise.
Plan and supervise the work of direct labor and subcontractors, determining construction methods, manpower needs, and material and equipment requirements.
Manage trade productivity, efficient use of materials and tools, and contract performance.
Ensure craft and subcontractor personnel receive proper training in safety, QA, technical qualifications, and equipment operation.
Confirm project compliance with drawings, specifications, FWPs, ITPs, and the overall project schedule and budget.
Interface regularly with client representatives, engineers, and other contractors to resolve issues and maintain coordination.
Enforce QA programs and quality control procedures at the field level.
Maintain all required project documentation, including safety records, progress reports, manpower logs, FWPs, training and equipment documentation.
Participate in layout activities, work instruction preparation, and field engineering support.
Maintain lines, levels, and verify as-built conditions for project acceptance and documentation.
Qualifications
Technical college diploma or an equivalent combination of training and field experience.
Minimum of 5 years of construction and subcontractor supervision experience, preferably within the
nuclear industry . Proven ability to supervise and execute construction projects safely, on time, and within scope. Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, cost control, trade coordination, and safety requirements. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with reading and interpreting CGC cost reports. Comfortable working in
Radiological Work Areas
and in compliance with nuclear facility protocols. Strong organizational, communication, and team leadership skills. Ability to obtain and maintain a
security clearance
at a U.S. nuclear facility. Must pass a pre-employment
drug and alcohol screening .
