We are seeking a detail-oriented
Payroll Coordinator
to join our client\'s Finance team in a
hybrid work environment . This role requires
3 days per week in the Lone Tree, CO office
with flexibility for remote work on remaining days. The position is essential for ensuring accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly employee payroll across multiple states while maintaining strict compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong analytical skills with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing & Administration
Process full-cycle, bi-weekly multi-state payroll using Paycom HRIS platform Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and complex compensation components Manage multi-state taxation, garnishments, benefit deductions, and off-cycle payrolls Produce payroll reconciliations for balance sheet accounts (HSA, 401k, tax liabilities, workers\' comp) Process leave of absence pay coordination with HR and third-party vendors
Compliance & Regulatory Management
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions Complete monthly, quarterly, and yearly payroll reporting (W-2, 1095-C, 1099 administration) Process wage garnishments, tax levies, and child support orders per legal requirements Stay current with changing payroll tax laws and employment regulations (FLSA, FMLA)
System Management & Employee Support
Serve as Paycom system subject matter expert for functionality and configurations Generate and analyze payroll reports for management and audit purposes Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and tax withholdings Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Finance, and Practice Management teams
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred Minimum 4 years of progressive multi-state payroll processing experience Strong working knowledge of federal and state payroll legislation Technical Skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP) Paycom experience strongly preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Teams) Core Competencies
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated with ability to work independently and collaboratively Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information Customer service excellence and responsiveness Preferred Qualifications
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation Experience in public accounting or professional services environment Knowledge of payroll best practices and process improvement What We Offer
