We are expanding and seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable/Payable Specialist to join our team and help ensure the accuracy and timeliness of our financial operations. Job Description

As an Accounts Receivable/Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing daily billing operations, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices. This role supports our financial health and customer service goals. Responsibilities

Process daily accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks; create/pay invoices for vendors; process all methods of payment. Reconcile customer accounts and manage vendor relationships by resolving payment discrepancies, responding to inquiries and ensuring timely payments. Match and verify weight tickets with billing data. Track overdue payments and proactively engage with customers to resolve outstanding balances. Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records. Support basic accounting functions and month-end closing procedures. Prepare aging reports and other financial summaries as needed. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing and account issues. General bookkeeping tasks. Manage weekly payroll processing. Manage company-wide benefits for new hires. Verify timekeeping records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies; review and correct errors in timekeeping systems before processing payroll. Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues, and benefit plans. Calculate sales commissions for the sales team. Facilitate onboarding of new employees by entering their information into the payroll system. Distribute 401k information to employees and collaborate with provider to address inquiries. Stay up to date on changing federal, state and local tax laws affecting payroll. End-to-end payroll processing for bi-weekly payroll cycle, ensuring precise calculations, timely submission, and full tax compliance by achieving a 100% on-time payment rate. Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable or related accounting functions. Strong knowledge of account reconciliation and basic accounting principles. Proficiency with billing systems and accounting software (QuickBooks Online experience required). Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients and team members. Experience handling weight ticket reconciliation or experience in the waste management industry is a plus.
